To coincide with COP26, we invited parishioners of all ages to submit work in any medium that would encourage people to think about climate change and encourage them to act positively.
We received 50 wonderful entries in oil, watercolour, collage, charcoal, acrylic, textile, photography, cartoon and computer design. Half of them were from the under 12’s.
Generous donations were received for the prizes from Bury Farm and Johnson Matthey. In addition, the costs of running the competition were covered by Johnson Matthey, including the banner of all the entries that was produced by The Printworks.
The prizes were awarded by Susan van de Ven, our District and County Councillor, at the December Village Market. In the under 12’s category, the winners were Elizabeth Ives, Belle Trunks and Jasmine Glover. In the 12-18 category, the winners were Maddie Saggers and Elina Sanganee, while in the 19-65 category it was Karen Robinson and in the over 65s it was Sue Everitt.
We received lots of positive comments about all the entries – a big thank you to everyone who took part.
