Food
Currently, the village imports most of its food from outside the local area and we want to change this…

No other daily purchase is more important than buying food… and yet we pay scant attention to its origin.
We want to radically re-shape and re-localise our food ‘Agri-CULTURE’ and build a network of members supporting the health and happiness of villagers. Practically, this means growing and selling fresh, delicious, seasonal produce in the village using organic and low-carbon methods.
Aims
1.
Develop a food hub for those who are already growing or who want to grow, and provide supporters with an easy way to enjoy buying and eating local food.
2.
Establish a ‘not for profit’ BC Food social enterprise that will be run collectively by local growers, supporters and purchasers.
3.
Raise funds to lease land to act as a ‘village farm’ for the village.
